The CDC inspects cruise ships for cleanliness. But there’s one thing it does NOT inspect: us. Thanks to FoxNews for interviewing me about the CDC’s latest Vessel Sanitation Program report — and giving me the opportunity to put the results into perspective.
You can watch excerpts of the video interview by clicking HERE.
The report shows just how seriously cruise lines take sanitation and how well cruise ships are doing at maintaining clean, healthy environments for travelers.
But even the cleanest ship is only as healthy as the people who come aboard.
That’s a good reminder that we all need to take personal responsibility for staying healthy when we cruise — or travel anywhere. And one of the simplest, most effective things we can do?
Wash our hands!
